Staff Accountant

KEY RESULTS AREA

Maintains financial reporting systems, including fund accounting, in support of Maranatha operations.  Supports the Operations team with financial reporting tools that allows for effective financial analysis/decisions in accordance with sound accounting and business principles, procedures and practices.

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Maintain all procedures, practices and controls related to the financial operations of the conference.
  • Maintain general ledger accounting in support of all required financial reporting for the non-profit entity.
  • Oversee daily cash receipts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, non-designated gifts, designated gifts and non-cash gifts.
  • Oversee all resident billings, including annual lease fees, assessments, and other charges.
  • Prepare all record keeping and reporting related to local, state and federal agencies.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits as directed by the Board Treasurer.
  • Facilitate cash management programs.
  • Conduct banking transactions and bank reconciliations.
  • Administer the employee payroll system.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly departmental budget/financial reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain records including receipting of all financial gifts/donations to the various ministries of Maranatha.

SECONDARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Assist in the maintenance of corporate insurance policies, claims, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Supervises: volunteers who assist in counting offerings and performing other miscellaneous tasks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • A strong accounting background with the ability to prepare monthly and annual financial statements is required.
  • A minimum of three to five years’ experience with a working knowledge of and experience in the following areas, including but not limited to:
    • Accounting (G.A.A.P, principles, procedures, systems and controls)
    • Personnel management (HR regulations, policies, payroll, etc.)
  • Ability to interact and support other department personnel.
  • Superior organizational and administrative skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks, Excel, Megasys and Outlook is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION

  • The ability to perform work outdoors and/or indoors in a conference center environment.
  • The ability to sit, walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to bend, stretch, reach with a full range of motion, and to lift moderate weights of up to forty (40) pounds

MARKETING and COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

KEY RESULTS AREA

Direct all aspects of Maranatha’s marketing efforts and media communications, including overall responsibility for strategy, branding, messaging and public relations with the goal of increasing the number of guests year-round and overall net income.

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Establish direction and strategy for all of Maranatha’s marketing communications, developing Maranatha’s “brand” through clear and consistent messages, images and typography.
  • Design and/or produce all print communications, including but not limited to brochures, postcards, advertisements, tickets, banners, posters, guest guides, etc.
  • Facilitate the development and continual refreshing of Maranatha’s websites utilizing inside and/or outside resources to creatively market to and minister to Maranatha’s various constituencies.
  • Coordinate Maranatha’s social media presence to build ongoing relationships with an ever-growing number of families, individuals, churches, ministries and meeting planners.
  • Supervise the development of audio and video media for Maranatha program presentations and marketing efforts.
  • Research, select, negotiate and place all advertising for Maranatha programs and ministries.
  • Develop and manage annual Marketing budget to insure budget compliance.

SECONDARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Develop and maintain Maranatha’s guest, group and vendor databases for marketing/communications.
  • Assist in marketing events and conferences.
  • Provide event support for summer day programs, the annual Christian Writer’s Conference, Senior Breakaway, weeklong retreat groups (i.e. JAF, Open Hearts, etc.) and other Fall, Winter and Spring programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • A skilled marketing strategist with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • A working knowledge of audio and video production programs.
  • Event planning and/or retreat management experience.
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Social media and marketing experience required; hospitality industry experience helpful.
  • A college degree in marketing/graphic design/communications or equivalent professional or technical training and experience expected.

HOUSEKEEPER

KEY RESULTS AREA
Responsible for performing a wide variety of housekeeping duties for the facilities and grounds, following proper housekeeping procedures and techniques. Adheres to very high standards for overall cleanliness and appearance of facility.
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Duties include cleaning and servicing lodging and other facilities on the campus.

RELATIONSHIPS & STATUS

  • Reports to: Housekeeping Supervisor
  • Wage: Part time hourly\

  • Demonstrated ability to follow directions and work successfully with teammates
    independent of intensive supervision
  • Thorough working knowledge of the equipment, materials and methods used in cleaning and custodial work.
  • Maintains positive work ethic and attitude, and conveys a pleasant outlook and disposition toward all guests and staff.
