More Details below...
Mike winter will present a four-part series entitled: "The Four Pillars of Raising Godly Children"
Mike Winter will also be sharing these topics:
1. PREPARING OUR SONS FOR LIFE … There are 3 important things we need to prepare our boys to be: Priests, Providers, and Protectors. We must give them training and tools, then look at their maturity in each of these areas to determine when they’re ready to consider the possibility of courtship and a lifelong marriage relationship.
2. PREPARING OUR DAUGHTERS FOR LIFE … There are also 3 important things we need to prepare our girls for: Ministry, being Mates, and Mothers. Again we must provide them with training and tools, then watch their levels of maturity to help us determine when they’re adequately prepared to look toward beginning a courtship relationship and seriously contemplating marriage.
Skeet Savage will offer these four electives:
1. MAKING IT, OR FAKING IT? ... If your family can pull it off in public, they can walk it out as a reality behind closed doors 24/7! Here's a look at how to measure and achieve Biblical standards of love and respect in the home.
2. NIP IT IN THE BUD! ... Getting to the root of behavioral problems and ongoing issues that undermine relationships and disrupt the peace and tranquility of the family setting.
3. THE INS AND OUTS OF GODLY CHARACTER ... A practical examination of the INfluences that determine the OUTcome of our parenting efforts.
4. RAISING A GENERATION OF OVERCOMERS ... If we are not overcoming the world, we are being overcome by the world. This session examines Biblical truths that will enable us to make our homeschooling efforts count for eternity.
Heidi St. John will offer these four electives:
1. TIME MANAGEMENT: KEY TO SUCCESSFUL HOMESCHOOLING ... Tick Tock. Tick Tock. Have you ever experienced a series of days, weeks, or even months when you felt like you just could NOT get on top of all that you had to do? Have you just decided that it's either school or dinner today? Most moms struggle with finding a balance when it comes to homeschooling and staying on top of the rest of your day. If you're struggling with trying to get it all done, you will enjoy hearing some of Heidi's favorite tips for managing homeschooling and homemaking... and still finding time to fit in other things.
2. MULTI-LEVEL TEACHING ... Toddlers, Tweens, and Teens, OH MY! One of the most challenging aspects of homeschooling a houseful is figuring out how to teach them all! Trying to find time to teach individual subjects, well, individually... can be overwhelming. Heidi will share seven secrets of multi-level teaching that will empower, encourage, and enlighten you! If you've got a houseful, then you've got your hands full! Let's laugh together and rediscover the JOY of homeschooling with a full heart AND a full house.
3. HOMESCHOOLING HIGH SCHOOLERS ... YES YOU CAN! Hey, we won't lie to you... Homeschooling through the teen years can be intimidating. But there are many benefits we'll consider as we revisit God's heart for discipleship between parents and their children and look at the analogy from Psalms that says children are like arrows in the hand of a warrior - a beautiful picture of a healthy parent/teen relationship. Homeschooling through high school is the gift that keeps on giving because it affords you the one thing that is so fleeting in the teen years: time together!
4. BUSY HOMESCHOOL MOM'S GUIDE TO ROMANCE [WOMEN ONLY] ... How do you balance your love life with language lessons? Every homeschool mom has felt the pull and pressure of trying to balance their marriage and their commitment to motherhood. Hey, most homeschool moms are happy to find time for a shower, let alone a romantic night with their husband! Heidi will challenge the way you view your marriage and inspire you to seek God's heart as you model a strong healthy marriage for your children. This is Heidi's favorite topic, so bring a notepad and fasten your seatbelts! It's time to put the "real OO" back in your homeschool!
Jay St. John will offer these workshops:
1. THE HEART OF INTIMACY: FOR MEN ONLY - Encouraging men to love their wives, particularly during the busy homeschool years.
2. REAL LIFE HOMESCHOOLING - Let's get real, homeschool dads... homeschooling is hard! Why do we so often act like it's not and like we have it all together?
