Staff Accountant

KEY RESULTS AREA

Maintains financial reporting systems in support of Maranatha operations using appropriate accounting and business principles, procedures and practices.

 

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Maintain all procedures, practices and controls related to the financial operations of the conference.
  • Maintain general ledger accounting in support of all required financial reporting for the non-profit entity.
  • Oversee daily cash receipts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, non-designated gifts, designated gifts and non-cash gifts.
  • Oversee all resident billings, including annual lease fees, assessments, and other charges.
  • Prepare all record keeping and reporting related to local, state and federal agencies.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits as directed by the Board Treasurer.
  • Facilitate cash management programs.
  • Conduct banking transactions and bank reconciliations.
  • Administer the employee payroll system.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly departmental budget/financial reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain records including receipting of all financial gifts/donations to the various ministries of Maranatha.

SECONDARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Assist in the maintenance of corporate insurance policies, claims, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Supervises: volunteers who assist in counting offerings and performing other miscellaneous tasks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • A strong accounting background with the ability to prepare monthly and annual financial statements is required.
  • A minimum of two to five years’ experience with a working knowledge of and experience in the following areas, including but not limited to:
    • Accounting (G.A.A.P, principles, procedures, systems and controls)
    • Personnel management (HR regulations, policies, payroll, etc.)
  • Ability to interact and support other department personnel.
  • Superior organizational and administrative skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks, Excel, Megasys and Outlook is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION

  • The ability to perform work outdoors and/or indoors in a conference center environment.
  • The ability to sit, walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to bend, stretch, reach with a full range of motion, and to lift moderate weights of up to forty (40) pounds

Guest Services Agent

KEY RESULTS AREA

To provide exceptional service to our guests and residents with an attitude of appreciation and thankfulness for their patronage.

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Greet guests and complete the registration process to include, but not limited to, inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirmation of guest information and room rate, coding electronic keys, providing welcome packets.
  • Ensure rooms and services are correctly accounted for and processed according to front desk procedures, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, accepting and recording various forms of payment and making change.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Maranatha property, facilities and programs including, but not limited to, room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, the local area and other general product knowledge and answer guest questions and inquiries.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner communicating with the appropriate departments to insure guest needs are met.
  • Field guest complaints conduct research and resolve and negotiate solutions for guest satisfaction.
  • Communication with Housekeeping, Maintenance and programming staff to meet guest requests.
  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Process sales of all tickets (concerts, special events and meals)
  • Other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS & STATUS

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

  • Organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of office systems, software and protocol.
  • Experience with and technical knowledge of guest reservation systems and services helpful.
  • Hospitality industry experience helpful.
  • A High School degree

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION

  • The ability to perform work outdoors and/or indoors in a conference center environment.
  • The ability to sit, walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able, willing and available as needed to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.

HOUSEKEEPER

KEY RESULTS AREA
Responsible for performing a wide variety of housekeeping duties for the facilities and grounds, following proper housekeeping procedures and techniques. Adheres to very high standards for overall cleanliness and appearance of facility.
